QNAP Updates Its UK Warranty Terms.. UK Buyers Beware Of Grey Imports!

Please note with immediate effect QNAP has updated its international warranty procedure. Due to various suppliers within the UK advertising grey imported QNAP solutions, QNAP Inc has with immediate effect updated its international warranty procedure.

The following rules now apply. QNAP warranty service should be obtained by contacting the dealer/ retailer/ e-tailer/ system integrator or distributor where the customer purchased the unit. The return of defective unit should be strictly through the original route of purchase. If original channel is in another country and is inconvenient to contact, you may contact QNAP Technical Support for international RMA services. In this case, the customer will be charged handling fee, $50 (USD), and all the fees incurred, including two way freight, duties, taxes and brokerage fee.

Given the potential costs that customers could incur by purchasing QNAP products that have been supplied on the grey market we strongly advise to check the warranty status of the QNAP goods prior to making your purchase. If the QNAP equipment is being advertised with a one year warranty then its almost certainly a grey import and will be subject to the above warranty charges should any warranty claim be made.
